<li>Ask students to partner up and create a scenario, then discuss the best way to get the teacher&rsquo;s attention in that situation. Then have them role-play with their partner.</li>

<li>Make an SEL Journal entry. Describe use of the skill and what specific words/behaviors they say/do when getting the teacher&rsquo;s attention.</li>
<li>Extend learning by introducing the skills of Getting Another Person&rsquo;s Attention and Interrupting Appropriately. Review the steps and discuss how all three skills relate.</li>
<li>Model or demonstrate the steps of each skill.</li>
</ul>

Thursday

<li>Model or demonstrate the skill of Getting the Teacher&rsquo;s Attention.</li>
<li>Ask students to share examples of how they have used the skill in the past week.</li>
<li>Engage students in discussions about how using the skill has helped them, or in what situations it was difficult.</li>
<li>Encourage students to think about how the skill might be applied at home or in the community (e.g. getting a parent&rsquo;s attention, siblings, grandparents, a store clerk or attendant at the pool, etc.)</li>
</ul>

Friday

Teach students respectful ways to seek assistance or clarification from the teacher when needed, promoting independence and problem-solving skills.
